Pancakes!

The Pancake

Mix a pancake, stir a pancake, pop it in the pan.

Fry a pancake, toss a pancake, catch it if you can!

I like them with lemon, sugar and jam.

Aprons on down with Fanno, Craig  Jordon and Jake.

Now it’s time to bake!! If you get me on the plate, you might put golden syrup  or cream on me and roll me up and eat me!

Or you could put me in the micowave and eat me up later!

Céad Slán le Joey’s

Rang a Sé took their leave of Joey’s at a lovely, moving cereony in the school. The end of an era for these boys, their families and the school. When the ceremony was over the lads assembled in the garden for one last photograph of them in “Joey’s – the Best Little School in the World”.

Hurling Awards / Garda Visit

Well done to Mr. McDonald and Mr. Brennan for all their hard work  with the legions of Joey’s hurlers. A bucketload of trophies and medals were presented at today’s Awards Ceremony in the hall [Show as slideshow] imgp6450 imgp6451 imgp6452 imgp6453 .

Thanks to the Gardaí in Clontarf Station for taking the time to come and talk to Fifth and Sixth Classes about internet and phone abuse, eg. cyber-bullying.

WOW and COW!

To mark our first ever COW or BOW day we had some day in Joey’s!

It started with all the cyclists gathering in The Circle to cycle to school. Unusually, however, the cyclists were led BY A COW (the cow bore a resemblance to Fanno!) – and the cow was cycling!!

Then it was into the school for breakfast – healthy smoothies, toast and some not-so-healthy saussies and black puddings.

Finally, there followed some safety training in the yard and then a present of a cycling helmet and other goodies to each boy who took part!

From now on, by the way, anybody cycling to school must wear a helmet – and that includes staff.
