DEIS CUTS

Dear Parents,
Once again thank you all for the support regarding the Government’s proposed DEIS cuts. Unfortunately, the news is not so good. Word filtering back to us from Government sources is that there will be no substantial change in the Government’s position; there may be a few changes for selected schools here and there but no u-turn or general rowing back on the cuts. Schools will be told in the next two weeks or so what cuts to expect and I’ll keep you posted.
In the meantime plans go ahead for another protest.Thursday February 23rd has been chosen for a national day of protest with marches and meetings all over the country. This time the Dublin protest will take place at the Dáil; I’ll send out all the details nearer the day – buses will be provided to take our protesters to the Dáil. It’s important that the next protest is as big as or even bigger than the last one so please keep the afternoon of the 23rd free!
