Parents going back to school!

In case you didn’t get the letter home – we will be starting a few activities in the school next week for parents.

Next Tuesday we will begin a 6 week Healthy Eating And Nutrition Course. This will take place in Ballybpough Community Centre and will run from 9.30am -12.00am.

Starting next Wednesday we will have our walking club. Parents can gather in the school and 9am and all it involves is going for a walk for an hour. If you have young children in buggies-feel free to bring them as well.

Also on Wednesday we have our Computer Classes. A number of parents started in the last term. Anybody who wishes to start is very welcome. These classes take place in the secondary school and run from 1.15pm – 2.30pm.

On Friday, we have Craft Classes. Again these classes ran before Christmas so if anyone wants to join, you’re very welcome. These classes involve knitting, sewing crochet, embroidery, crossstitch – basically whatever you would like to do.

For parents who are interested in reading, 6th boys are taking part in a project called One Book One Community which involves 19 schools in the Dublin 1/3 area. The project involves 6th Class and 1st year pupils of the 19 schools reading the same book. Pupils are encouraged to bring the book home and get others reading it. The book chosen is Taking Sides by Brian Gallagher. If you don’t have a son in 6th Class but are interested in reading the book let me know and I can send home a copy.
