Well done and thank you very much to all the parents, pupils, friends and staff of Joey’s who supported our protest march and meeting. What a sight it was to see the crowd making its way towards the Department of Education; by the time we reached Gardiner Street our numbers had swelled to over 1,500 people and on Marlborough Street the official counters counted over six thousand people! What a turn-out! What a strong message to the Government that children, who did not cause the country’s problems, should not be the ones to pay for those problems.Any Government ignoring a protest of this size does so at its own peril!Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir.
